Onion peel (i.e. too many layers)

Ads that run in reverse, whether the film is played backwards, or, with editing, the scenes are told chronologically backwards, is just one of those styles of storytelling that get used every now and then. Still, this new Levi’s ad is kinda interesting. There’s the whole after all the pomp and fuss we’re really all just girl and boy in love, albeit girl and boy in jeans in love tale. And then there’s a twist in the flow of logic towards the end that I don’t know what it means (and actually didn’t even see it at first). I doesn’t help that I can’t read the payoff line. Maybe it’s just one of those let the world go on I know what I want things.

Or maybe it’s just cool pictures and 90 seconds that doesn’t have to mean anything except have a feel-good ending, and leave the brand with top of mind recall and a positive image in your purchase consideration set.
