Life goes on

By frabjousdays

brixton station muralI’m not sure if this is what music from the Caribbean sounds like. Growing up, listening to my parents’ Beatles cassettes, I always thought this song was from that area, namely Jamaica. Don’t know why. Probably because it was the only place I knew of that was remotely related to that region. For all you know, the Fab Four were singing about Brixton. Anyhoo, it’s a happy song. We got a job, so happy ever after in the marketplace we shall work. Life goes on.  :)

Apparently, the tag line “ob la di ob la da, life goes on, bra” was an expression that Nigerian conga player Jimmy Scott, an acquaintance of McCartney, often used.

    Got it off Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ob-La-Di,_Ob-La-Da

I discovered your blog some months ago on some random search. You write very well though sometimes a tad cryptic. Keep going.
